A new finish, soft goods, flooring and furnishings can transform a space better than make-up can alter facial features — and all without moving a single bulkhead.
The new owners of the Westport 112 Boxer gave designer Marty Lowe eight weeks to give their boat a makeover. And Lowe’s team, working with the yacht’s captain and Julianne Hammond as owner’s representatives, turned Boxer into a knockout.
One of the most notable areas where Boxer was given a fresh new look was the eight-seater formal dining area in the main deck saloon. Lowe’s use of nautical tones and marine-themed artwork is a marked contrast with the more ornate style seen before.
Pale woodwork and marble worktops brought a modern feel to Boxer’s country kitchen-style galley, whilst retaining the built-in television and raised breakfast nook.
Boxer’s layout remained unchanged during the superyacht refit, with room for eight guests split across four staterooms. The star of the show is the master suite, which has been given a bold new striped carpet as well as a large mirrored panel above the new rectangular headboard.
The attention to detail employed during Boxer’s makeover can be seen in the smallest of spaces, with the day head getting smart new wall linings, a new timber-effect sink and a new circular mirror.
Launched in 2010 as Alesia Maria, Boxer has now been given a fresh lease of life that should see her providing luxurious vacations for many more years to come.
