Argent Design
History
Started in her front room in 1997, Nicola Fontanella’s interior design and architecture practice Argent Design has quickly grown to be one of the leading luxury design practices for residential, hotel, commercial and superyacht projects the world over. Her wide-ranging portfolio includes spas and cigar rooms, and her client list includes celebrities Madonna and Guy Ritchie.
Around the turn of the millennium, Fontanella asked her friend Lady Tina Green – wife of British high street tycoon Sir Philip Green, whose Arcadia group owns chains such as Top Shop – to join Argent Design as creative director. Lady Green was owner and designer of a 50 metre Benetti, and has applied her design acumen and superyacht experience to other superyacht designs as well as overseeing other Argent projects all over the world.
Notable yachts
Among Argent Design’s superyacht interiors are the 63 metre_Lionheart_ – owned by Sir Philip Green – and her bear sistership, the 65m Benetti Silver Angel. Other Argent yachts include the Ferretti Custom Line 97_Casta Diva_.
Specialisations
While superyachts play a part in Argent Design’s interior and exterior design work, the studio is known for its residential and land-based projects all over the world. Lady Green and Argent have also designed an Art-Deco inspired collection of furniture, lighting, bedding and tabletop items for Lalique, marketed under the Maison Lalique brand.
