Adam Lay Studio
History
After studying industrial design, interior designer Adam Lay chose superyachts for his specialisation working first for renowned luxury yacht designer John Munford.
After eight years with Munford, Lay left and in 2003 set up Adam Lay Studio to concentrate on individual, highly custom superyacht interiors. Focusing on both luxury sailboats and motor yachts, Lay has been careful to avoid developing a house style, preferring instead to create unique interior designs based on a client’s passions and influences.
Notable yachts
Adam Lay Studio has worked on several high profile projects including the superyachts Salperton III, Salperton IV, J-Class Endeavour, Baltic Yachts' Inukshuk, and motor yachts such as Lürssen’s 61 metre Lady Kathryn V.
Specialisations
Adam Lay has won awards for his interior designs including the 2014 ShowBoats Design Award for Interior Design – Sailing Yachts for the Baltic Yachts Inukshuk, which also won the Sailing Yacht of the Year award at the 2014 World Superyacht Awards. Lay’s contribution to the J-Class Endeavour refit scooped a 2013 World Superyacht Award, and Salperton III won awards at both the ShowBoats Awards and World Superyacht Awards in 2008.
