FLIBS 2022: Three new Ocean Alexander superyachts on show and for sale

7 October 2022 • Written by Laura Nicholls for Ocean Alexander

For more than forty years, Ocean Alexander (OA) has produced top-of-the-line luxury yachts ranging from 14 to 47 metres. What began as a small operation has now transformed into a highly respected, international yacht brand that can be found in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

With key designer Evan K Marshall on hand, Ocean Alexander has delivered a string of notable yachts such as the OA 100, the 37-metre series and the OA 26R from the yard’s Revolution series.

Now in the midst of the show season, Ocean Alexander has been busy preparing a fleet of new and brilliant yachts to present. Set to debut at the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) is an impressive fleet of three models from the yard's Revolution, Evolution and Legend series.

In anticipation of the show, here is an insight into Ocean Alexander’s show line-up, all of which are for sale:

28E

Length: 28.83m
Beam: 6.3m
Engine: Twin MAN V12 1650HP
Cruising Speed: 24 knots
Max Speed: 19 knots

The 29-metre 28E is a modern design with the classic Ocean Alexander features designed by Evan K Marshall. The design offers a traditional layout that makes the most of a 6.3-metre beam. With large living areas, including an open-plan main deck equipped with a light-filled saloon and dining area, the yacht has space for a master suite with great views and stone-clad furnishings.

Guests can also make use of the skylounge and flybridge for entertaining, and each are complete with comfortable seating areas, a wet bar and a custom-made grill. Down below, the beach club serves as the perfect hideaway for a relaxing afternoon lounge or a satisfying late-night cocktail.

35R

Length: 35.6m
Beam: 7.64m
Engine: Twin MTU 2600 HP
Cruising speed: 15 knots with 800 nm range
Max speed: 23 knots

Having made her world debut at last year's FLIBS, the 35R is one of three models in the Revolution series designed by Evan K Marshall and Arrabito Naval Architects. With a gross tonnage of just under 300, the livable spaces and well-established layout have been optimised to offer a safe and luxurious place at sea. She can accommodate up to 10 guests in five staterooms, with five crew members able to wait on their every need. Said to be unlike anything the yard has ever built, her power comes from two MTU diesel engines.

37L

Length: 35.9m
Beam: 7.47m
Engine: MTU V16 2600hp
Cruising speed: 19 knots with 746 nm range
Max speed: 24 knots

The 37L from the yard’s Legend series has been engineered with some “surprising” details to a design by Evan K Marshall as a perfect yacht for privacy, luxury and intimate entertaining. As an advancement on the previous 36L model, the new yacht features a master suite on the main deck level, allowing space for utilities and laundry in the bow of the lower deck. The 278 GT interior features accommodation for eight in a master stateroom, two doubles and one VIP with a queen-size berth. The two guest staterooms – port and starboard – can be joined together to create one larger room for four.

Other onboard features include a sky lounge, a dining area, a galley and a saloon with custom-designed furniture. Meanwhile, an entertainment system with stereo sound capacity is found in the saloon, the flybridge and skylounge.
