As global yacht brokerage firm Burgess closes its 49th year, it is firmly set on continued US expansion. Already with a leading presence, CEO Jonathan Beckett is now based in Miami and the company has relocated its offices in New York and Miami to key business districts.

With a new Palm Beach office opening and exciting plans for this winter season in Aspen, Burgess is poised to meet the growing demand for its 360-degree service in yacht sales, charters and management. With the curtains now closed on FLIBS 2024, BOAT looks back at the standout yachts in Burgess' fleet.

Amaryllis

Amaryllis

Leading the lineup at this year’s FLIBS, Amaryllis was the largest yacht on display, at 78.4 metres LOA. Built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2011 and refitted in 2023, her interior – designed by British studio Reymond Langton – draws inspiration from Art Nouveau, Belle Époque and Art Deco styles, featuring bespoke artisan furniture by Silver Lining and a grand piano.

Accommodating up to 12 guests in six cabins, Amaryllis boasts a master suite with a private terrace, a VIP suite, three double cabins and one twin, all equipped with walk-in wardrobes and en suite bathrooms. Her lower deck houses a beach club and spa complete with a gym that opens directly onto the sea, while a five-metre pool on the sundeck invites guests to relax under the sun.

For water enthusiasts, Amaryllis has plenty of space for a wide array of water toys and tenders, including a 9.9-metre Graf Ipanema custom tender, a 6.6-metre Master Craft X25 tender, an 8.8-metre Pascoe Beachlander tender, and a Ribo 420 SOLAS-approved rescue boat. She has a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising range of 4,300 nautical miles at 14 knots, with comfort enhanced by twin Quantum zero-speed stabilisers. She is currently listed for sale at €84,000,000.

Amadeus

Amadeus

Ranking as the third-largest yacht at the show, 70-metre Amadeus is an explorer yacht built by Jadewerft in 2007. Featuring an exterior design by Reymond Langton and naval architecture by Dutch studio Vripack and the Canadian designer Gregory C. Marshall, she is renowned for her robust design and long-range capabilities, with a steel hull and steel-aluminium superstructure.

Inside, Amadeus offers 1,622GT of interior volume, including a glass elevator that connects three decks, a 14-person cinema, a custom Steinway piano and a fully equipped gym with a sauna located on the owner’s deck. Accommodation is for 14 guests in seven well-appointed cabins, including a full-beam master suite with a private terrace, a VIP suite, two king cabins and three twin cabins that can be converted into kings.

Amadeus is also equipped for exploration, with storage for two jet tenders positioned forward of the wheelhouse, optimising guest space at the stern. Outdoor relaxation areas are plentiful, with the sundeck Jacuzzi serving as a standout feature.

Powered by twin Caterpillar 3512B 1850hp engines, Amadeus boasts an impressive range of 9,000 nautical miles at her economical speed, making her ideal for long-distance adventures. She is currently listed for sale at €48,500,000.

Muchos Mas

Also on display at FLIBS were the 51.8-metre Feadship Amanti, the 47.2-metre Sunseeker Alessandra III, the 44.8-metre worldwide cruiser Gran Finale, and the highly popular 43.9-metre charter yacht Muchos Mas.
