As one of the largest yacht shows in the world, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show flung open its doors on October 27, 2021 as a five-day show exhibiting some of the latest and most notable yachts and toys available today. With so much going across some of Fort Lauderdale’s hotspots last week, here is a round-up of some of the activities that happened:
The superyachts
More than 640 exhibitors and 680 boats participated in this year's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The largest of the line-up was located at the Super Yacht Village at Pier 66 from builders such as Benetti, Feadship, Rossinavi and Burger Boat.
In total, around 20 large superyachts between 60 and 70 metres were on show including the yachts Rebeca, BOLD, Avanti and the new Bluegame BGX70.
Exciting seminars
During the show, at least 18 seminars took place in either the Convention Center’s Seminar Room and Aquazone. Visitors were able to learn and engage with talks about an array of topics such as fishing, navigation, fire and safety, security, marine and wildlife.
The VIP Experience
The show’s Windward VIP Club offered an exclusive area in a central location where guests could escape the heat, relax and enjoy shore and water views, a premium open bar serving the show’s official white Whitehaven wine, gourmet food and networking opportunities.
Live watersports
The AquaZone area was an exciting and engaging attraction designed to give boat showgoers an upfront and personal experience with a variety of water sports and new marine products. Guests were able to see and try out equipment such as water bikes, kayaks, SeaBobs, surfboards, inflatables and try their luck in the Pedal Kayak Tug of War event.
