An email from Maarten Ten Holter arrives giving details of his new central agency for sale, the 55m Ocean 55. An unfinished conversion project at Peters Schiffbau in Germany, she was originally built in 1961 by Schichau-Unterweser and was being rebuilt as a diesel electric world cruiser. The project is now available for completion and commissioning with a totally refitted hull and superstructure.
All the required re-engineering and design documentation for technical outfitting is already completed and the equipment has been purchased with a view to finishing the project in 12 months. Maarten was also kind enough to send me an overview of the technical specifications: it runs to no less than 58 pages.
