Custom Line, a brand of Ferretti Group, has revealed the spectacular Custom Line Navetta 38, the latest made-to-measure yacht in its elegant displacement line.

At 38.76 metres, the Custom Line Navetta 38 builds on the brand’s reputation for quality, volume and comfort on board and introduces a new concept, full-beam beach club to the range.

As with her sisterships, exterior styling is by architect Filippo Salvetti and interior design by ACPV Architects’ Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, working with Piero Ferrari’s Strategic Product Department and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.

Maximum volume

The intention of the design, which replaces the outgoing Navetta 37, is to maximise the usage of all 300GT of volume and surface areas across the four decks and eight-metre beam. The classic exteriors feature simple, harmonious lines that combine seafaring tradition and contemporary sophistication. Architect Filippo Salvetti calls it “the perfect blend of yachting prowess and elegance”. “The simplicity of the lines expresses an understated sense of luxury and give form to a contemporary design with extremely refined styling,” he says.

Fold-out beach club

A first for the brand is the innovative full-beam beach club. Gunwales open out on either side to create a wide, flush-deck area with a bathing platform with direct access to the sea. Flexibility is key on board the Custom Line Navetta 38, so freestanding modular furniture makes the most of the 70 square metres across the beach club and main deck cockpit. A sea-facing sofa providing panoramic views is bound to be a favourite spot.

The roomy sundeck offers another 70 square metres for relaxation, with sun pads and a wood-surround spa pool aft, a sun lounging area forwards and open-air dining under the shelter of a hard top.

Panoramic views

Glass parapets on the sun deck and in the main deck cockpit ensure the connection to nature and the sea is maintained. This connection is central to the entire design – amidships, the main and upper decks have cut-out bulwarks, maximising natural light, and full-height windows throughout exploit this advantage. They also ensure seamless flow between inside and out. “The Custom Line Navetta 38 is conceived to give the owner a unique experience of the sea, with extensive glazing and open areas that intensify the harmony between interior and exterior, creating an unprecedented sense of spatial continuity,” says Salvetti.

Fine detailing

Inside, the Custom Line Navetta 38 has a large master suite measuring over 40 square metres, plus four guest cabins on the lower deck, sleeping 10 in total. Crew (up to seven) and guest flows are kept separate to ensure maximum privacy. Patricia Viel’s interior design uses refined detailing and fine materials with natural textures, such as leather, linen and parchment on finishings and upholstery to create a luxurious feel. Furnishings are custom-designed and hand-crafted in natural leather and wood. In the first hull, which was unveiled at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show and is in-build at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, Italy, the interior mood is neutral, in ivory and beige, but other moods – warmer, with a cosier colour palette, or cooler, featuring sky and navy blues – are available to owners for customising to their own tastes.

“Extensive glazing and mirrored surfaces create a close relationship between interior and exterior, taking control of the natural light, the water and surrounding nature and making them her own,” says interior designer Patricia Viel. “Meticulous attention to detail in the customisation of the furnishings, the materiality of the surfaces and the definition of the spaces helps create a smooth and fluid balance with the ambience, evoking a refined elegance and timeless comfort for both owner and guests.”

Power systems

Under the hood, the standard configuration is two 1,400hp MAN engines, giving a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 2,800 nautical miles at 10 knots. The design is SCR-ready; installing the selective catalytic reduction system reduces NOx emissions by 70 per cent to comply with IMO Tier III rules. Technology on board is of the highest quality, including Fratelli Canalicchio standard hydraulics, Naiad stabiliser fins and Heinen & Hopman air conditioning.

“The birth of a new Navetta always exceeds expectations,” says Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. “We achieve this goal by drawing on talented designers who create magnificent new balances between form and function. The result is unprecedented elegance, spatial fluidity and absolute comfort. Time spent on board the Custom Line Navetta 38, when cruising or at anchor, is a harmonious and pleasurable experience without equal.”
