The 60 metre motor yacht Event, listed for sale by Imperial, has been sold with Burgess introducing the buyer.
Built in steel and aluminium by Dutch yard Amels as the first in the yard's Limited Edition 199 series, she was delivered in April 2013 and made her debut at the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show, going on to win a Neptune trophy at the 2014 World Superyacht Awards. The interior, designed by Laura Sessa in bleached oak and natural colours, accommodates 12 guests in six cabins. The full-beam master suite is on the main deck, two VIP suites are on the bridge deck, and a double and two twins are on the lower deck. All cabins have entertainment systems and full en suite bathroom facilities.
Designed by Tim Heywood, Event is characterised by her scimitar bow. It gives a longer waterline to the yacht, similar to one of a conventional 65 metre motor yacht, and it reduces the fuel consumption. Powered by twin 2,012hp Caterpillar engines Event has a top speed of 16.5 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 13 knots.
Event is highly customised according to the wishes of the owner. Notable features include an enclosed sundeck area, a touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck and additional folding bulwarks with sea balconies on either side of her formal dining room to allow better views while dining. The beach club has a vast swimming platform hosting a sauna, steam shower, gymnasium and retractable steps into the water.
