92m superyacht Tranquility returns to Oceanco for extensive "eco-friendly" refit

8 May 2024 • Written by Dea Jusufi

The 91.5-metre Tranquility has arrived at Oceanco's facilities in Zwijndrecht for an extensive refit. She last visited the Dutch shipyard for a brief "upgrade period" in June 2023.

Works will include a new interior, a stern extension to maximise outdoor space and a full repaint that promises to "transform" her exterior. She will also have her AVIT and NAVCOM systems upgraded and receive "environmentally-conscious" upgrades through this refit process, including the use of eco-friendly materials.

In 2014, Tranquility (then Equanimity) was delivered as the first yacht built to the PYC standard. Her original interiors are owed to Winch Design and inspired by Asia, including materials like wenge, gold leaf, bamboo and marble.

Lifestyle features include a beach club, which transitions to a gym and a spa, complete with a sauna, Hammam, showers and a massage and beauty room. Accommodation is for up to 22 guests, including a dedicated owner's deck with a convertible study and a private balcony with a Jacuzzi.

"We are delighted to welcome Tranquility back home to Oceanco for this extensive refit with our Life Cycle Support team," said Marcel Onkenhout, Oceanco’s CEO. "This project is a testament to our dedication to innovation while supporting yachts at every stage of their life cycles."

Charlie Birkett, Y.CO co-founder and CEO added: "Myself and the Y.CO team are extremely proud to play a part in bringing Tranquility back to the yard for this extensive refit. The owner has chosen to make some inspiring modifications that will not only ready her for some exciting worldwide cruising as part of her new fleet but will also pave the way for more environmentally conscious cruising."

According to BOATPro, Oceanco has two 111-metre yachts under construction. This includes Project Y722, which was last sighted while on transport to Alblasserdam for outfitting.
